Learning Objectives
Classroom work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and clinical training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. The program also includes lab exercises, live blood draws, work with a training arm and other exercises intended to prepare students to function as an entry level Phlebotomy Technician.
Expected Career/Learning Outcomes
Successful Phlebotomy students will be prepared to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam, which will enable graduates to enter a promising phlebotomy career or pursue further healthcare education.
Career opportunities include working as phlebotomists in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and blood donation centers. This certification also enhances roles in diagnostic labs, assisting with patient care, and can serve as a foundation for further medical training, such as nursing or laboratory technology.
Credentials Earned
This course is not for college credit, rather it prepares individuals to take the NHA (National Health career Association) exam. Upon successful completion of the classroom hours, you will be eligible to sit for the CCMA exam offered by the National Health career Association (NHA).
