This program is designed to provide practical instruction in basic medical terminology and anatomy, proper techniques used in collecting and processing blood specimens. Students will practice blood collection techniques with a mannequin arm in the classroom setting prior to clinical hands-on collection with each other and patients.

Successful Phlebotomy students will be prepared to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam, which will enable graduates to enter a promising phlebotomy career or pursue further healthcare education.

 

Career opportunities include working as phlebotomists in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and blood donation centers. This certification also enhances roles in diagnostic labs, assisting with patient care, and can serve as a foundation for further medical training, such as nursing or laboratory technology.
